Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on 17
November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada She was the daughter of Sandra Kay
(Gale), Nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams, truck driver and furniture mover.
She is Englishas well as Welsh-, Irish-, and Scottish. Rachel began acting at
the age of thirteen. She was already performing in Shakespearean plays during
summer theatre camp. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a
BFA in Theater. After making her debut on the episode of Disney's The Famous
Jett Jackson (1998), she co-starred in the Canadian TV show Slings and Arrows
(2003), a comedy-drama about the struggles and trials of an Shakespearean
theater group. She got the Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her debut
role in the role of Regina George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly
brought her to the top of the list of Hollywood's hottest young actors. After
that film she was cast as the opposite of Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004).
The Notebook was a smash in the box office and quickly became the leading
romantic drama for a new generation of moviegoers. Following filming, McAdams
and Gosling became engaged and started dating until mid-2007. McAdams next
showcased her versatility in the screen with the raunchy comedy Wedding Crashers
(2005), the action thriller Red Eye (2005), and the holiday-themed drama The
Family Stone (2005).McAdams then explored the independent film world through
Married Life (2007), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and also
starred Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. After starring in
The Lucky Ones, a military drama, State of Play, and The Time Traveler's Wife
(2009) McAdams also starred alongside Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy
Ritchie's blockbuster international Sherlock Holmes. McAdams portrayed the
plucky producer in Morning Glory (2010). McAdams also played Owen Wilson's
wife, a materialistic one in Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams then returned to
romantic drama territory with The Vow (2012) with Channing Tatum. McAdams is also
a part of Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) and Noomi Rapace as Passion
(2012) in Brian De Palma's thriller.
