Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7th 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre actor as well as writer and director) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother and is an actress. Her older brothers include Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who are also actors. Evan and her brothers performed in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive director. At the age of five she was screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead part in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process.
